Team DSM coach Roy Curvers: “Scheldeprijs: A classic sprint race or an echelon party? That is always the big question in the weeks before this event. As a team, we don’t have a preference for a specific scenario; and we are well-prepared for both a sprint and a hard race. We have to make sure we race our own race and aren’t too focused on only one scenario. With Sam, we have a finisher who has proven to be one of the fastest guys in the bunch. If the race completely explodes then a lot of our riders have a finish in their legs which gives us the opportunity to ride a tactical race in case it is an attacking final.”
